Le rooibos - More Than A Tea

The plant and its effects

Rooibos is a health drink. It is known for its therapeutic benefits and nutritional content. It is considered a natural source of low-tannin antioxidants and a wide variety of flavonoids. Rooibos is free from calories, caffeine, colorings and preservatives.

Studies have already looked at the plant's health-promoting properties. Rooibos has a positive effect on the body, mind and soul and is traditionally used as a remedy:

Rooibos For Babies And Children

Because Rooibos does not contain caffeine, this tea is also a good alternative to (often sweetened) herbal teas for children and babies. In South Africa, Rooibos has even been used as a supplement to breastfeeding for generations. Because of its antispasmodic properties, it is especially recommended for babies with colic and allergies. In addition, the minerals in Rooibos supplement the daily intake of fluoride and calcium and thus contribute to the development of strong teeth and bones.

Rooibos can also help when applied externally: it relieves diaper rash if it is applied to the skin every time the diaper is changed.
