Organic Buchu Mint Tee 40g, tea bags
Buchu Tea with Mint – cool, fresh and doubly clear in character
Buchu and mint do not pull in two different directions – they reinforce each other. The typical Buchu character, with its hints of blackcurrant, mint and cool herbal freshness, is joined here by a second, more direct mint note. The result is not a soft herbal tea, but an infusion with a clear line: fresh, cool and distinctive.
Anyone who already finds pure Buchu interesting will experience it differently here. The mint does not take away Buchu’s individuality, but sharpens its fresher side. That is exactly what makes this blend feel invigorating and clear, without becoming restless or overloaded.
Why Buchu and mint work so well together
Buchu brings natural oils, fine herbal character and its typical cassis-like freshness. Mint picks up exactly that side and makes the cool direction even more pronounced. Rather than combining opposites, this blend brings together two plants that feel aromatically related – and that is precisely why they fit so well.
The result is not a generic mint blend, but a clearly defined style: fresher and more direct than pure Buchu, yet more individual and full of character than a pure mint tea.
How this blend tastes
At first, the infusion feels cool and clear. Then the typical Buchu notes begin to unfold – blackcurrant, fresh herbal clarity and a fine, almost essential-oil-like sharpness. The mint intensifies this line and gives the tea even more freshness and lift. That is exactly what makes it interesting for anyone who enjoys herbal teas with a clear aromatic direction.
If you prefer mild and rounded teas, other Buchu blends may suit you better. If you appreciate freshness, clarity and a distinctive herbal profile, this is one of the most straightforward Buchu styles in the range.
Directly from Skimmelberg
This tea comes from Skimmelberg in the Cederberg. The farm stands for organic Buchu and Rooibos products from South Africa and connects origin, cultivation and processing in a way that can be recognised in the cup. That matters especially with a blend like this: it does not live from sweetness or heaviness, but from leaf character, freshness and balance.
HOT INFUSION:
Pour about 250 ml of 90 °C hot water over one teabag in a cup or teapot and leave to steep for 4–10 minutes, depending on taste.
The longer the tea steeps, the more clearly the typical Buchu notes come through.
You can also infuse the tea more than once.
Enjoy it plain or refine it with a little honey, sugar or a slice of lemon, if you wish. The most pleasant drinking temperature is around 60 °C.
This tea also remains a refreshing pleasure when enjoyed cold.
