🌿 Green Rooibos – Fresh, Mild and Rich in Antioxidants
This unfermented rooibos – like its classic counterpart – comes from Zeekoevlei 109 Farm in South Africa, where the Smit family handles cultivation, processing and packaging entirely on-site under the Ouhuis brand.
The rooibos is harvested one day and freshly cut the next morning. It is then sun-dried on the so-called “Tea Court” the very same day – completely without fermentation. Thanks to the hot, dry summers in the Cederberg region, only a very short time passes between harvest and drying. This not only reduces oxidation but also minimizes the formation of histamine – an important benefit for people with histamine intolerance.
Green rooibos is especially popular for its fresh, mild and grassy aroma, as well as its high content of antioxidants. Since it is not fermented, its original yellowish-green colour and many sensitive plant compounds are preserved.
Rooibos can be enjoyed in many ways – hot, warm or cold. On warm days, green rooibos is wonderfully refreshing as iced tea, while in winter it provides soothing comfort.

Preparation:
- Pour boiling water over one tea bag and steep for 3–5 minutes.
