Organic Buchu Tea 40g, tea bags
Organic Buchu Tea – pure Buchu, cool, distinctive and clear
Anyone who smells Buchu for the first time immediately notices that this is not an ordinary herbal tea. Instead of a soft, generic aroma, many recognise notes of blackcurrant, fresh mint and a cool, almost citrus-like clarity. It is precisely these natural oils that make Buchu so distinctive – and why pure Buchu tea becomes an unknown favourite for many.
This tea is for anyone who wants to experience Buchu not as part of a blend, but in its original form. Without additional herbs or spices, the true character of the plant comes through here: clear, distinctive and unmistakable.
What makes pure Buchu tea special
In Europe, Buchu is still far less familiar than Rooibos. That is exactly why the first impression often surprises people: not sweet, not soft, but cool, aromatic and clearly shaped by the leaf itself. Pure Buchu tea is the most direct way to get to know this plant – not through added ingredients, but through its own aroma.
Anyone who drinks Buchu on its own quickly understands why this plant has been valued in South Africa for so long: not because it is loud, but because its signature is clear and immediately recognisable.
A tea with roots in the Cederberg
Buchu is deeply rooted in the plant world of the Western Cape and closely linked to the Cederberg region. On the farms of Skimmelberg, Buchu has a long history. In the past, it was harvested there in the wild and carried down the mountain in sacks on foot or by donkeys. Today, Buchu is cultivated sustainably on Skimmelberg and carefully processed.
That is exactly what makes this tea credible: it is not just some exotic product, but part of a long-established farm and plant tradition.
How this tea tastes
In the cup, Buchu tastes clear, cool and distinctive. Many describe the profile as a combination of blackcurrant, mint and fresh herbal clarity. Because Buchu is rich in natural oils, the impression is not flat, but precise and long-lasting.
If you are looking for herbal teas that do not taste generic, but have a real character of their own, pure Buchu is one of the most unusual plants in South African fynbos.
Directly from Skimmelberg
This Buchu tea comes directly from Skimmelberg in the Cederberg. The farm stands for organic Buchu and Rooibos products from South Africa and connects origin, cultivation and processing in a way you can recognise in the cup. That matters especially with a tea like this: Buchu lives through its plant, its leaf and its place of origin.
HOT INFUSION:
Pour about 250 ml of boiling water over one teabag in a cup or teapot and leave to steep for 5–10 minutes, depending on taste.
Enjoy it plain or refine it with a little honey, sugar, lemon or ginger, if you wish. The most pleasant drinking temperature is around 60 °C.
Hot-brewed Buchu also makes an excellent base for a flavourful iced tea.
